Open Question: I got in a car accident a month ago, and get tired easily because of it…now I’m out of shape. Exercise help?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

At the end of June, I was in a car crash. I’ve been getting a lot better since, but, I find that I still get tired very easily doing physical activity. It’s been getting better, but, as a result of my lessened physical activity, I have been getting noticeably out of shape. As expected, I no longer have the muscle definition and strength I had before.

I’d like to do some things, but working out still causes some pain. I can do curls and some such weightlifting alright, but I cannot do things like situps and pushups, and have trouble with a few stretches.
I used to have pretty defined abs, now I look to have a small gut. I have a healthy diet and watch what and how much I eat, as well, so, it shouldn’t be much of a factor.

About 2 years ago, I lost a lot of weight, so, maintaining my physical fitness has been important to me. Situps and such were a big part of that because I could do them home in my room at any time, without going to a gym to use their weights. I have some freeweights at home, as well.

Anyhow, my goal for the summer was to gain 10 pounds of muscle, but due to my accident I have since lost 8 pounds, probably of…well, muscle.

I’d like to do what I can in the remaining 5 weeks of summer, but, at this rate, besides doing what little lifting I can at the gym, I don’t know how.
So, it’s not a big deal, I can put up with just not going to the gym and such, but, my new summer goal is to at least get somewhat toned again, and hopefully that may speed up my recovery as well (I have basically no endurance running and riding a bike - a 30 minute bike ride will have me tired for hours, now).
What’re some practical replacement exercises for situps and pushups that I can do at home, without equipment?

Open Question: Turning 24. Need a well round fitness plan. Any suggestions.

Monday, August 4th, 2008

I need a fitness plan that includes aerobic, strength training, stretching, and core exercise.

I do not have any equipment. None. I prefer to use my own body weight.

Oh, I’m five-four and 170lbs.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

Voting Question: Are kids allowed to use the fitness center on "Liberty of the Seas?"?

I am going on a cruise with my mom this saturday and was wondering if children are allowed to go in the fitness center and use the equipment

Resolved Question: Does anyone know about the fitness equipment at Qua Baths & Spa at Caesar’s (Atlantic City)?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

I was wondering if anyone has been to the fitness room and Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars in AC. Their webpage just says they have a new fitness room, which has natural light and a bay window. They dont say anything about what is included in the fitness room or the quality of the equipment. I assume they have a few treadmills, but does anyone know if they have weight machines? If so what kind? Are they good? AC’s hotel gyms tend to not be the best. Before I pack everything, I would like to know that I will use it :) Lizz K. Thank you for the web pages. I’ve already viewed them, but thank you for taking the time to find them.

Resolved Question: How to make a personal fitness plan?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

I’m 19 years old and I really would like to get more fit. I’m 5′3″ and currently weigh 102 pounds. I used to dance, but since I’ve stopped I’ve lost a lot of weight (probably muscle) and I’d like to get that back.

I’m currently not working and won’t be leaving for school for another month, so I could workout on a daily basis. I also don’t have money to join a gym or buy a bunch of fancy equipment.

Could anyone help me put something together?

Resolved Question: post partum weight loss.?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Hi I gained 75 lbs with my son…lost 30lbs after delivering and now I am 3 months postpartum. I have about 20lbs to go now. any ideas for exercise with Baby? we stroll everyday for at least an hour…and if I can fit it in during the day I will use my fitness equipment. run on the eliptical and do at least 100 sit ups a day.
anyone have an ideas on how to up the weight loss?? I havent lost any lbs in the last month…but I’ve lost lots of inches! But I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans…. or any of my pants!!
or am I just pushing it?? it has been only 3 months.
I guess I’m just jealous that two of my friends can already wear their clothes and they are only 2 months postpartum
oh and my jeans are a 25/26. how many inches does my waist & hips have to be to fit into them again??? I dont know my measurements from before. I’m guessing my hips were about 30inches….and my waist around the belly button was about 27inches…does this seem right?

Voting Question: Warranties, product liability, and consumer law?Implied warranties.?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Warranties, product liability, and consumer law?
Implied warranties. Sam, a farmer, needs to install a 2,000 pound piece of equipment in his barn. The equipment must be lifted 30 feet into a hayloft. Sam goes to Durham Hardware and tells Durham that he needs some heavyduty rope to be used on his farm. Durham recommends a one inch thick nylon rope, and Sam purchases 200 feet of it. Sam ties the rope around the piece of equipment, puts the rope through a pulley, and with the aid of a tractor lifts the equipment off the ground. Suddenly, the rope breaks. The equipment crashes to the ground and is extensively damaged. Sam files suit against Durham for breach of implied warrranty of fitness for a particular purpose. Discuss how successful Sam will be with this suit.
